Garbage In, Value Out
For cleaner, healthier communities
GIVO combines climate technology and community engagement to reduce waste, enable recycling and create fair jobs for underserved communities. We make recycling, upcycling, and waste management accessible, sustainable, and rewarding for everyone.
Africa, specifically Nigeria, is expected to become the largest producer of mismanaged plastic waste by 2025.
We’re changing that. Through tech-enabled solutions. community-based initiatives and a data-driven approach, GIVO is building sustainable ways to solve the waste problem and end plastic pollution in West Africa.
GIVO Center
Our network of tech-enabled centres are located within 5km of each community we serve, ensuring zero carbon and continuity. We recruit locals to collect recyclables door-to-door. This not only creates sustainable jobs but also ensures that valuable materials are diverted from landfills. We provide financial incentives for our collections, to encourage participation and provide households with substitute income. Presently, each centre collects 90 metric tons annually.
GIVO Technology Platform (GTP)
GTP is an advanced software platform that optimises the entire waste management value chain, from collection and sorting to processing and recycling by providing real-time tracking, and data analytics. GTP tracks emissions, ensures regulation compliance, simplifies transparency and enhances corporate sustainability for waste management organisations, manufacturers, corporations and social enterprises.
GIVO Foundation
GIVO Foundation is a non-profit organisation focused on education, skill development and income creation for underserved communities. This project equips people with practical knowledge and tools to become ambassadors of circularity within communities.
Since 2021, the GIVO Foundation has impacted over 1,200 individuals across communities in Nigeria through training programs, skills acquisition, job opportunities, and the production of consumer products from recyclables.
