At the GIVO Foundation, we believe in circularity – waste is not the end of a story, its the beginning of a new one.
What started in 2020 as a project upcycling discarded bottle caps to address the urgent need to distribute PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic has grown into a movement for circular living in Africa. From protecting communities in a crisis, we shifted to equipping communities with the tools they need to protect their communities and the environment.
To us, circularity is about redesigning the way we live and consume by keeping resources in use, creating upcycled products, and empowering people with the knowledge to make better choices.

Waste pollution isn’t just an environmental issue, it’s a social one that can only be resolved by empowering those affected the most. By teaching, upcycling, and engaging, we’re helping communities see waste differently: not as a burden, but as an opportunity.
We believe the next generation has the power to shape a more sustainable Africa. That’s why we bring recycling and circular economy education directly into classrooms. Through fun, hands-on lessons and activities, students learn how waste can be transformed into something valuable and how their small actions can spark big change.
Consistency deserves recognition. Our Top Depositor Rewards program celebrates the individuals and families who make recycling a habit. By rewarding those who deposit the most recyclables at our centers, we encourage long-term behavioral change and highlight community champions who lead by example.

From cleanup drives that bring neighbors together, to movie screenings and town halls that spark conversations, we use creative approaches to make recycling part of everyday life.
